DID YOU KNOW?

Soapstone is defined to be a metamorphic rock which is a rock that has been changed by extreme heat and pressure. Soapstone consists of two different stones, known as Talc and Steatite. Talc is the softest material on earth, particularly used to manufacture all cosmetics, sculptures, toothpaste, chewing gum, baby powder, and more. The other type of soapstone is called steatite, which is a material used for flooring, sinks, countertops, and more.

For your kitchen or bathroom:

Soapstone is a material that is softer than the majority of natural stones. Yes, it is a very soft material but is also very dense, being a non-porous stone. It can be somewhat compared to marble, slate, granite, and limestone due to its non-porous characteristics. A positive about soapstone is that you will not have to worry about this material staining because it is impenetrable.

Soapstone is extracted like granite but delivers a smooth surface. Soapstone tends to be a heavy, mineral talc composition that is able to bear temperatures up to 600 degrees. Soapstone has the ability to enhance any scheme due to its rich and unique character. KR Tile & Stone gives you the ability to really highlight the natural attributes of the stone and at the same time you will have an option to enhance the stone to a polished finish.
